Liberation From Sorrow Prayers
Green Tara is a female Buddha, a manifestation of the ultimate wisdom of all Buddhas. Each of the Twenty-One Taras in Liberation from Sorrow is a manifestation of the principal Green Tara, known as the “Mother of the Conquerors”.
She is our common mother, our Holy Mother. When we’re young, we turn to our worldly mother to protect us from immediate dangers, to provide us with all temporal needs, to guide and encourage us in our learning and personal development. In the same way, for spiritual growth, we turn for refuge to our Holy Mother Tara to protect us from all internal and external dangers, provide us with all the necessary conditions for our spiritual training, and guide us and inspire us with her blessings as we progress along the spiritual path.

What is a buddhist prayer?
It is a meditation ritual practice together, in summary. The chantings are meant to remind the practitioners of the different mental qualities that are meant to be developed in order to achieve the results of such practice.
-
What happens in a chanting prayer?
A buddhist prayer is a group ceremony, in which the assembly practice a ritual meditation together. It is customary to chant out loud during these practices, but you can simply join and follow the chantings mentally, too.
-
What's the purpose of a group prayer?
The main purpose is to create positivity and reduce our inner negativity. A group prayer (or puja, as buddhists call it) is a very powerful method to do such things, because people strengthen the power of the practice by doing it together.
-
Can anybody join?
Yes, the chanted prayers are open to everyone regardless of religious. In this particular group prayer, only those who have received HYT empowerments are allowed to.
