Loneliness, Connection and Acceptance
Loneliness, Connection and Acceptance | Meditation Morning Course | Saturday 21st November 10am-1pm
In today’s world, feelings of loneliness and isolation are increasingly common. We can even feel disconnected when we are in a relationship or surrounded by other people.
However the good news is that loneliness and isolation are states of mind and can therefore be changed. In this course, we will explore how to build connections with others, develop a deeper sense of acceptance, and understand our place in the world.
Through these joyful meditations and teachings, we can discover a greater sense of connection and learn that we are never truly separate from others.
Course fee: £15/ discounted for members. Stay for optional lunch in our World Peace Cafe after the course for £5

What should I expect?
Our classes are relaxed, friendly and suitable for everyone. A typical class includes two guided meditations and a practical talk explaining how Buddhist wisdom can help us deal with everyday problems and enjoy a calmer, happier life.
-
Who can attend?
Anyone can attend, meditation can be beneficial for everyone as it is a mental activity that focuses on creating more positivity in the mind.
-
What should I bring?
You don’t need to bring anything with you. Everything required for the class will be provided. You may wish to bring a notebook and pen if you like taking notes, but this is completely optional. Most importantly, just bring yourself and an open mind.
-
Do I need to wear special clothing?
Not at all. You can simply wear whatever you normally feel comfortable in. Meditation does not involve physical exercise or complicated postures, so there is no need to wear special clothing.
-
Do I have to sit on a meditation cushion?
Although we do provide meditation cushions on the floor, it is not necessary to sit on one. Most people prefer to sit on a chair, which is also perfectly suitable for meditation.
-
Do I have to be Buddhist to attend?
Not at all. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their background, beliefs or previous experience. Many people who attend our classes are not Buddhist, they simply want to learn how to meditate, find greater peace of mind and deal with life’s challenges in a more positive way. You can take away whatever you find helpful and apply it in your own life.
